About Us

Efforts to establish the library at our university began on 31 August 1993 with the appointment of the Head of the Library and Documentation Department. The first library services were provided in a modest 104 m² area on the 11th floor of the Metropol Business Center.

Developed with the concept of a central library, Mersin University Library moved to the Central Classroom and Laboratory Building on the Çiftlikköy Campus in September 1996, increasing its service area to 317 m². Through subsequent expansion work, the area first increased to 1000 m² and, with the allocation of the building's second floor in 2008, reached its current modern layout of 2637 m².

The Yenişehir Branch Library, opened on the Yenişehir Campus on 9 October 2001, was transferred to the Central Library on 8 August 2016, bringing its services together under one roof. Our library continues to serve in an area of 2637 m² with a seating capacity of 394 users.
